Sassy

Sassy

My name is Sassy. I am a little over five years old and new to the rescue. I came to my foster home where there are seven other rescue dogs. My foster mom says I am a great dog. I love to run around the yard, snuggle and get belly rubs. I have come such a long way from the life I knew before I was rescued.

My whole life I lived outdoors, with a heavy chain that kept me from being able to go any further that my dog house. I wasn’t allowed to go indoors no matter what the weather. This is all I knew since I was 8 months old. I was used for breeding until I was 4 then I was adopted by a neighbor who grew to love me. But my life was still outside, my dog house and chain came with me. When she couldn’t care for me she posted me on Craigslist ” Free, can still have puppies”. That’s when The Miracle Foundation found me.

I’ve been with my foster mom for about 5 months. My mom says I am very smart and eager to learn new things. I have learned to walk on my leash, and I know sit, down and stay. I also am very polite and ask to go out. My mom has also taught me that a kennel is a safe warm place to sleep at night or stay when she is not home. When my family is home my preference is to be with my humans, go for walks, or just cuddle. I get belly rubs which I enjoy very much.

I have met lots of other animals here, we have three cats and our neighbors have horses which I am getting used to. As for my health, I have been to the vet, and was recently spayed and was brought up to date on all my vaccines. The vet checked me over, I was treated for fleas and a few hot spots. I am very healthy now.

I am looking to find a family I call my very own. A family that will let me love them and allow me to be the dog my foster mom says I am. She says I have a silly personality and am very curious. I love the outdoors but I am very happy to come inside and be with my family, especially when it’s cold. My mom has me on a very healthy diet which has made me lean and strong.

IT’S THE PITS DOG RESCUE

itpbanner

It’s The Pits is a 501c3 canine rescue that coordinates the fostering and adoption of dogs that haven’t yet found their permanent home. We specialize in American Staffordshire Terriers (“Am Staffs”), Staffordshire Bull Terriers (“Staffy’s”), and American Pit Bull Terriers, but will do our best to help all breeds, often by referral to other local rescues that specialize in that type of dog. We work alongside our fosters to give the dogs a temporary and loving home before they are placed into permanent homes. We rescue dogs from various shelters, evaluate them, ensure they are healthy, and then match them with the appropriate family. We take pride in matching the best dog for the individual family that contacts us. We do this by matching the activity level of the dog to the family’s needs, as well as making sure that the other pets in the home work well with the new addition to the pack. All of this is important in finding the forever home for our rescued pets.

Rosie

Beautiful Rosie came to us with her two puppies who have recently found forever homes of their own. Rosie is now looking for her very own home to recover from mom life. She would do wonderful in a home where she could just hang-out in the house or yard with you, as she is a bit of a home body. She likes most other dogs but needs a calm intro to new doggies and people.

Please consider sponsoring Rosie with either a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation. Your donation will help It’s The Pits with day-to-day care, including food, vaccinations, flea treatment, treats and toys. Click on the Sponsor This Pet in the adoption link below to make your donation today. Thank you!

Jango

I’m a happy & sweet puppy but like any puppy, I will need love, structure and training. I would love to have a doggie brother or sister to grow up with but would be OK as the only dog too. I haven’t had all of my shots yet so I must be in a house with a private backyard. I won’t be available to go to my forever home until June 4th but you can complete an application today 🙂

SamSam

Meet Sam, the one-eyed wonder dog! Sam’s journey in life may not have started out the best but he is sure the happiest dog there is! Sam ended up at the vet clinic I work at and it looked like he had been hit by a car. He ended up needing to have his left eye removed and has a limp on his left front leg (xrays show no damage).  He still has a limp but it never slows him down and once he recovered from his other injuries, he has never looked back. He literally has a permanent grin and his face, loves to wag his whole body and loves cuddling with people. He loves dogs and people of all sizes.  With new dogs he is a little shy and submissive but quickly warms up and loves to play bow and skip around during playtime. He is kennel trained and nondestructive to bedding or blankets. His favorite toys are big plastic bones or kong toys. He is very smart and loves learning new tricks- he currently knows: sit, shake and the “wait and eat” command before eating. We are still working on leash manners. He is house broken and loves to go on car rides. His ideal life would be short walks, cuddling, and getting to hang out with people or other dogs during the day. Please consider giving Sam an opportunity at finding his forever home.

Please consider sponsoring Sam with either a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation. Your donation will help It’s The Pits with day-to-day care, including food, vaccinations, flea treatment, treats and toys. Click on the Sponsor This Pet link in the adoption link below to make your donation today. Thank you!

Dori

Dori

I’m Dori! Me and my mom Gem were picked up as strays in LA and ended up at the shelter. It was a really scary place. Fortunately, the people at ITP here took us in. I’m really a very happy and lovable little girl that enjoys playing with my male doggie friends. I love being petted and held – I’m really quite cuddly! My favorite thing to do is play fetch, especially with a squeaky toy! I just love it! You throw it, I promise to bring it back. Got a pool? I love water! I splash and roll around. You can teach me how to jump in and swim! My ITP peeps think I’m the total package – young, fun and cute as a button! If you come meet me, I promise you’ll fall in love!

Stitch

Hey there, I’m Stich! I am almost a year old and am quite the outgoing fella! I love meeting new people and get really excited so I’m working on controlling my excitement but am doing a great job learning simple commands like sit and to wait for my food before eating. Cuddling and playtime are probably my two most favorite things! I would really like a forever family who will take me on lots of walks and play with me when they get home from work 🙂

Please consider sponsoring Stitch with either a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation. Your donation will help It’s The Pits with day-to-day care, including food, vaccinations, flea treatment, treats and toys.
